This week we delved into finding out what we didn't know about our topics. We shared brainstorming ideas on the online forum thread. As I mentioned last week, I don't know anything about Common Core, so I needed to get information about that. However, I took one look at two NY State websites and was like, "Gah! Can of Worms! Don't wanna!"
I've realized that I am a lot more interested in writing about the emotional and social health of children. However, I feel like I need to cover the academic benchmarks, too, because my message is one of creating a well-rounded child. So, I guess I will have to slog through a little bit of my writing in order to get to the stuff that I like. : /
One of the brainstorming ideas this week was to create a flow chart. I put WAY more energy into that. I was like, "Research Common Core information? Um...Okay...Or I could play with my chart instead!" Woo hoo! I can procrastinate with the best of 'em. Anyway, I put this up on my hallway wall and it made me feel like Claire Danes on Homeland.
