Motherhood's got me down, so I've committed to doing at least one thing a day that inspires my work. I'm going to record it here at the end of each day, since that's when I spend time holding my baby and playing with my smartphone.
I want to stay in the game. The point of reflecting/recording something I've done every day is to help me grow even though I feel like I am up against so many obstacles right now. Well, someday my path will be clear and I won't be rusty.
Today I watched a review of "Disgraced" on NY1 On Stage and now I am excited to read the play. I've been holding onto a copy of it forever. Now, I feel inspired to read it.
I also watched a bit of my Patsy Rodenburg DVDs this evening, but I've been doing that all along. At one point on the 4th disc, a student in class laments that they discovered how out of shape they are and how much further they need to go. "That's honorable," she says. "It's honorable to recognize the work that you need to do."
I really needed to hear that today.
