Lubbock, y'all.
I just got back from an extended weekend in Texas, celebrating the 60th wedding anniversary of my in-laws. Fred did a great job in planning the party as well as playing the Master of Ceremonies. Good job, Fred!
Here's what also happened earlier in the week: Allison Mosier came to NYC for a visit! Fact: when you google her name, Allison-Mosier-cleavage is the third line that comes up on the search. Yes, she's that "cami-secret girl" and she's more than a magnificent rack, she's also my dear friend! We met up for some theater and then talked shop over burgers and beers. I felt so good after spending a few hours with her - that's the sign of a good friend, isn't it?
What did we see? Annie on Broadway. Lilla Crawford was fantastic as Annie - rockin' "Maybe" with a Brooklyn accent! That was unexpected. In contrast, Brynn O'Malley was totally on pointe as the posh Grace Farrell with a flawless Transatlantic accent. (If you ask me, I think every posh secretary in New York City should STILL speak with a flawless Transatlantic accent. Alas, I was born in the wrong era. *sigh*) Anthony Warlow played Daddy Warbucks and he sings like a dream, people. A DREAM.
Oh! I finally finished reading "The Eyre Affair" by Jasper Fforde this week. This book is so clever.
I have a huge pile of books by my bed and I'd love to have just a few more hours in my day just for reading for fun.
