While visiting my family in Seattle, I went to the Chihuly Garden and Glass - a ridiculously beautiful permanent exhibit right across the street from the space needle.
I like the funky curves and colors. I found the large pieces that were set up in a black room with professional lighting to be the most dramatic (but the poppies suspended above the glasshouse put on a pretty good show, too!)
I tried to capture the reflection of the space needle in one of the outdoor globes, but alas -- again with the "choosing not to carry my iPhone for fear I'd do nothing but check Facebook". Bah. The lack of an awesome camera was the only drawback to my choice to unplug for a few days. I used my dinky Kodak sport camera, which takes great shots underwater or at the beach, but not the best tool for this adventure.
I made a slideshow. Enjoy! My pictures don't do the exhibit justice. Maybe someday (...when I'm a grown-up with a grown-up house) I can own a beautiful piece of glass art by Chihuly.
