Keep in Touch!

Oops. My Holidailies commitment became "Holiweekly"! I got SO sick after my husband came home from the hospital last Tuesday. It started as a cold on Monday night, which turned into a sinus infection by Thursday, which then turned into pink eye (in both eyes!) over the weekend. I had to call out sick to work today (Monday)….and it's the night of the big, fancy Holiday party -- so I'm missing that as well. So sad! But what could I do? I wasn't going to attend a hugging-and-hand-shaking event where there's tons of kids underfoot while I have contagious, runny, red eyes.

Ironically, if I wasn't pregnant….I would have just tossed back a shot of Nyquil on Monday night and been done with it. I don't normally get sick, so I'm pretty ticked that I wound up way sicker than necessary because I was being a good little mamma and eschewing cold medicine!

(I have pregnancy-approved antibiotic eyedrops now, so if you are reading this and have regular contact with me, don't worry - I'm no longer a walking contagion!)

Anyway -- I had to stay home from work today to obtain the eye drops, get un-contagious and get some much needed rest. I also had the time to give my site a little upgrade. You'll see a subscription prompt now in the right margin. Ta da! If you'd like to have my blog updates sent directly to your inbox - that can happen now!

All this is brought to you through the prompting of Barbara, who reached out to me last week and asked for an easier way to stay in today than through the Holidailies site. Thank you, new-friend-Barbara, for helping me get my act together.

I'm on the upswing now, health-wise, and I'm ready to finish out the month….(finish strong! woo!)…maybe I'll look for a blog community for 2014 as well. I'd like to find something inspiring to me; along the lines of simplicity, philosophy, artistic pursuits. If anyone knows of a blog ring that focuses on those interests, please let me know!

On top of everything you got pink eye(s), my goodness! On the bright side, you are getting all of this out of your system for Christmas.

How sweet of you to mention me in your post and to leave a comment on my blog! There's something about posting at this time of night (closing in on midnight) that makes all my sign ins go awry. I'll try subscribing again tomorrow but it insists that I use a g-mail account that I ignore because I've never been able to get into it. Not to worry. I have you bookmarked and will be keeping track of you and I'm sure the subscribe will work beautifully for everyone else, lol.

Next month I hope to reactivate one of my other blogs and to post weekly--this daily posting is way too much for me.

Take good care of baby! When are you due?

BTW--check out http://abbeyofthearts.com/ and see if that would suit you. Prayers and blessings, Barbara (yawn!)

Glad you're feeling better and that you were pulled back in to Holidailies. Although I haven't had the same kind of tough month you have, I did sign up for Holidailies and then pretty thoroughly fail to follow through... and then I, too, was pulled back in by a fellow Holidailies participant who remembered me from years past and wrote to check in on me. Those personal connections we form are probably the best thing about Holidailies.

And I'm so glad you're doing better--I remember when my wife was pregnant, getting sick was so difficult because we wanted to be careful about what she took in. All the best to you!

Thank you, John. I've bookmarked your site and look forward to reading (you like a lot of the things that I like!)

I look forward to your future weekly musings. I just read your most recent post and found it very meditative. Thank you!

I'm due Easter weekend -- April 17th-ish. I'm having a boy.

Thanks for the two links this past week - I'm always interested in checking out what people have to say in their blogs!

Once, long ago, I was born on Good Friday--my mother still talks about missing Easter dinner because she was still in the hospital with me--but that was an earlier Easter. You have to be a week to a week-and-a-half early to hit either my birthday or my daughter's.
